Huawei Mate 8 rumors: Variants to come in three sizes

(Huawei)Huawei Ascend Mate 7 will be refreshed with the arrival of the Huawei Mate 8

Earlier this month, Huawei hinted that it will be announcing the Huawei Mate 8 on Nov. 26 and it will probably have the Kirin 950 chipset on board. The latest rumor about the device, however, has indicated that it will come in a number of variants.

GSMArena, commenting on the rumor, states that the Huawei Mate 8 will have different sizes when it comes to the screen, and the hardware will differ. Coming to the smallest variant of the Huawei Mate 8 is a screen that ranges between 5.5 inches and 5.7 inches, the next model will have a 6-inch screen, and its biggest will have a 6.2-inch screen.

There have been a number of leaks about the Huawei Mate 8 and these have provided clues to its hardware and design. However, as of yet, it is only clear that the device, which is going to refresh the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 lineup, is going to feature the Kirin 950 chipset which was revealed just a few weeks ago. The chipset as seen in various benchmark sites has reportedly managed to top the Exynos 7420 in single core and multi-core testing. Other than the presence of the chipset, all other details about the Huawei Mate 8 are just rumors, and only its launch date has been revealed in a teaser that was released by the company.

Another recent leak showed the device with a round fingerprint scanner on its rear. This would be a change from the square fingerprint scanners that were featured on earlier devices, and a move toward the same type that was seen on the Huawei Nexus 6P which the company manufactured for Google.

Finally, with the Huawei Mate 8 rumored to come in three variants and different hardware in terms of internal storage, it remains to be seen if more details about the device will be leaked before it is released.
