"Half Life 3" may never be made, but that doesn't mean that the series is necessarily over.

Starting off with the latest news about the still unconfirmed video game, unfortunately, there's really nothing new that's going on.

The long-awaited Valve title has been unconfirmed for so long now that some fans are starting to think that it may never actually be produced.

Even now, official details about the sequel remain unavailable, and Valve has offered little in the way of hints that may give fans some hope.

It seems the reality, as much as many fans may dislike it, is that "Half Life 3" the video game may never see the light of day, but that doesn't mean that the franchise itself is completely finished.

Currently, a "Half-Life" movie is in the works and according to filmmaker J.J. Abrams, the film is now in development.

In an interview with IGN, Abrams revealed that there are now writers working on the "Half Life" movie, though he did concede that there was still no significant news to share about the project at this point.

At this point, it's unclear what the upcoming film will be exactly about.

There's a chance that the movie itself will just feature the events that were included in both the original "Half Life" and "Half Life 2," but what if it does something else entirely?

While it's a long shot at this point, there's also a chance that the upcoming film will actually continue the events of the most recent installment of the franchise, thus finally providing the answers that fans have been seeking for such a long time.

It may not be the "Half Life 3" that fans had in mind for a long time, but if the movie resolves the remaining plot points that remain unaddressed by the last game, then people will still likely want to see it.
