GTA: San Andreas celebrates 10th anniversary, HD remake for Xbox 360 coming up
Rockstar Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of GTA: San Andreas and is reportedly re-introducing the game with a Xbox 360 re-release. A new set of points and achievements listed by Xbox Achievements suggest to be leading towards this direction.
Buzzes got louder when several fans noticed that the title's old Xbox Original download was pulled from sale.
Rockstar Games has yet to confirm anything about GTA: San Andreas' release date on Xbox 360, but has already announced that an iOS version is coming up this November.
The GTA publisher has also posted a number of ways that they will celebrate this 10-year milestone of San Andreas.
First off, they are hosting San Andreas Anniversary Weekend from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26, where players will have the chance to participate in various contests and win cool prizes.
"It's been 10 years since Carl Johnson and the Families introduced Grove Street to the collective consciousness in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and to celebrate, we're honoring the legacy of San Andreas in GTA Online this weekend with an assortment of in-game bonuses, including chances to snag yourself some original San Andreas gear both in-game and IRL," Rockstar Games' blog writes.
On top of that, lucky players will be given the opportunity to win a custom San Andreas iPad Mini 3 and collectibles.
GTA: San Andreas was first released commercially on Oct. 26, 2004, for PlayStation 2, and June 7, 2005, for Windows PC and Xbox.
Today, the title is also available for Amazon Kindle, Android, Windows Phone, Amazon Fire TV and Mac OS X.
After a trip down memory lane, fans are looking forward to the official release date of GTA 5 for PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 14, and the PC version on Jan. 27, 2015.
