'GTA 6' release date suffers delay; to release to PS5 and Xbox Two?
While interest has been focused on the Adversary Mode in "Grand Theft Auto 5" and the content that will be included in the upcoming Valentine's Day DLC, many have been turning their attention towards the arrival of GTA 6. This week saw a number of rumors about GTA 6 hitting the internet and this provided a lot of gossip for gamers.
Neurogadget first off reported that "Grand Theft Auto 6" might be delayed as Leslie Benzies the president of Rockstar North took a sabbatical of 17 months and earlier this month decided that he was quitting the company altogether. This is expected to put a spoke in the development of GTA 6 as Benzies had been associated with the company for over 15 years.
As the news about Benzies leaving surfaced, fans were upset and this escalated when it was revealed that his sabbatical and departure might be connected to the late release of DLC content for the GTA 5. This has left many gaming industry pundits skeptical about the future of GTA 6 and it is thought that Benzies departure might cause the development of the upcoming game to be delayed.
However, replacements have already been announced for Benzies with Aaron Garbut and Rob Nelson taking over the responsibilities that came with his role. Importantly, Benzies had already hinted in 2013 when "Grand Theft Auto 5" released that they were considering ideas for GTA 6 but it would only be worked on once "Grand Theft Auto Online" was done.
Another rumor that surfaced this month about GTA 6 pointed towards the game arriving on consoles that have not been released. If this particular rumor is true, it could mean that GTA 6 will only be ready when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two have been released. However, even if the game arrives on upcoming consoles it is likely that it will be compatible with the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One which are the current consoles in the market.
