'Grand Theft Auto 6' release rumors, game features: Budgetary constraints delay title's arrival?
Rockstar Games has not announced a release date for "Grand Theft Auto 6" yet, but gamers are already gearing up for its arrival — expected to be in 2020. But it looks like they may have to wait a bit longer as rumor has it that the highly anticipated sequel may get delayed.
The studio has yet to even confirm the existence of "Grand Theft Auto 6," but many believe the game to be currently in the works. However, rumors having been running rampant that Rockstar Games may delay the release of the title due to budget constraints. It has been said that a funding of $265 million was required to make "Grand Theft Auto 5," its predecessor, so it is likely that more money will be necessary for the sequel — especially given the wider scope and increased features rumored to be on board.
Reports claim that Rockstar Games is apparently seeking $300 million in budget to produce "Grand Theft Auto 6," in order to accomplish the many features and functions that it is aiming for the game. And considering how big the company and project are, it may take a while before the budget is approved.
Rockstar Games also has a reputation of delaying the release of its titles beyond their intended arrival dates. It happened with "Grand Theft Auto 5" and with "Red Dead Redemption." Moreover, the studio could be busy working on "Red Dead Redemption 2," which was already revealed to have a fall release.
As for what the upcoming sequel will have in store for fans, it has been said that there are going to be new playable characters, as well as items. New weapons, vehicles, and drones are also going to be available for play. Rumors also claim that Eva Mendes will be lending her voice to a female lead character. And to top it all off, there has been talk of virtual reality support making its way to "Grand Theft Auto 6."
