(GoPro)GoPro Hero 5 the follow up version of the Hero 4 could arrive with the Karma drone

Recent reports have said that the GoPro Hero 5 release date was postponed from October 2015 to an unspecified date, but will be sometime in the early months of this year. According to Tech News Today, the widely known camera maker is adding some features and additional tweaks to GoPro Hero 5. This is surely a move to compete with the emerging new hi-tech cameras from different competitors today.

It has been rumored that GoPro will also release their first ever drone called "Karma," which is speculated to take part in the much awaited CES 2016. If the Hero 5 is designed to fit into the Karma drone, then it makes sense that GoPro is reportedly trying to design Hero 5 to be smaller and lighter compared to its predecessors.

This would be the most versatile camera to be built, since Hero 5 is said to have the waterproof housing feature that allows the user to submerge the camera up to 100 meters below water surface level. The GoPro Hero 5 can be used in land, air and water. This is going to be the first Navy-Seal-like camera, which is making consumers excited for its release.

The most promising feature of this camera is the Ultra HD 8K-video format that has twice the ability of the GoPro Hero 4 Black. Hero 5 can capture 60 frames per second compared to Hero 4, which is only capable of capturing 30 frames per second. The battery pack is a 2800mAh one that can continuously record videos for two hours. Consumers are likely to expect a longer battery life for this kind of hi-end camera. Since reports are saying that the company is furnishing the Hero 5 for future release, consumers can still hope for GoPro to upgrade the battery better than what has been reported.

The camera's rumored price runs between $450 and $550. This could be a reasonable price if all the reported improvements are true.
