'God of War 4' rumors: Kratos to battle out Gods from other mythologies; 'Silent Hills P.T.'
For many years now, fans of the hit Sony PlayStation game, "God of War," have been eagerly waiting for a new announcement regarding the next addition to the franchise, "God of War 4." Unfortunately, Sony's Santa Monica Studios has yet to offer any updates regarding the status of the game. However, this doesn't necessarily prevent fans from speculating as to where the next game will revolve.
According to the report from What Culture, since Kratos has already defeated the Gods of Greek mythology in the third installment, "God of War 4" may lead him into another battle with other Gods, possibly the ones from Norse mythology like Odin and Loki.
However, since everything has revolved around Greek mythology from the start, this move could certainly throw everything off balance. Luckily, though, What Culture had presented another potential path the developers could take for "God of War 4," and it is a total reboot of the franchise.
A potential reboot for "God of War" is the most possible approach they could take, more importantly, though, Santa Monica Studios' creative director, Cory Barlog, had already dropped that the next game will not come out as a prequel, according to IGN's report a couple of years back. With that in mind, it would seem like a complete reboot is imminent.
Meanwhile, "Silent Hill P.T." creator Hideo Kojima had previously paid a visit to Santa Monica Studios to see the games they are currently developing, as can be seen on his Twitter post last month. Unfortunately, Kojima did not drop any important details regarding "God of War 4" or if the IP is in fact being developed.
However, according to Segment Next, if Santa Monica Studios is in the process of making a new game, then Kojima may have already seen a glimpse of it. Do take note that this hasn't been confirmed yet. Needless to say, since everything is still in the rumor mill, it is highly advisable for the fans to take this one with a pinch of salt, and consider it as a mere speculation until proven otherwise.
