The fate of the popular Disney series "Girl Meets World" season 4 is still up in the air, and rumor has it that the show may, indeed, take a bow when its season 3 ends next year. However, rumors claiming that the show may still continue telling its story away from Disney's ward are also becoming more persistent.

According to reports, it is very likely that Disney will not renew "Girl Meets World" for another season. However, there is also a possibility for the coming-of-age series to continue telling its story on Freeform, where it will have the liberty to showcase more realistic teen issues, such as sex and suicide. After all, such topics are not possible on Disney as the shows that the channel airs are kids-appropriate. Hence, ever since its first season, "Girl Meets World" has never featured its characters going beyond kissing and holding hands.

The possibility of "Girl Meets World" transferring to Freeform was actually initiated by some of its fans who launched a petition on Change.org. As of this writing, the petition has gathered less than 48,000 supporters and is only short of a little more than 2,000 signatures to meet its target of 50,000 supporters.

However, at this point in time, Disney hasn't released any statement saying that "Girl Meets World" will end after its season 3. Just the same, it hasn't also confirmed that the show will get another season.

"We are wrapping production next week on the third season. With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," somebody from Disney told TV Line last July.

Is "Girl Meets World" really moving to Freeform? Is there a chance for the series to be renewed by Disney for another season?

Be it in Disney still or Freeform, one thing is for sure: fans want a "Girl Meets World" season 4.
