'Game of Thrones' season 6 spoiler: young Ned Stark reportedly to be played by British actor Sebastian Croft

Fans of HBO's epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" can expect some flashbacks in season six. That is if rumors about the new casting prove true.

Watchers on the Wall, a "Game of Thrones" community page, reports that young British actor, Sebastian Croft, has just been cast as the young Ned Stark. Having appeared in the West End productions of "Matilda" and "Les Miserables," Croft is not new to showbusiness. But he has mostly been in plays and this is the first time the 13-year old will be appearing in a major television show.

The concept of flashbacks to a young Ned Stark, who was made famous in the show by Sean Bean, first went off the shelves when HBO came out with the casting breakdown for season six of "GOT." And the same community site speculates that the young Ned might be one of these two:

Boy Aged 12
Brown hair and blue eyes. This is a great part for a 12 year old boy. We need a Northern accent, very grounded and physical and who you can instantly see has great heart and soul. He has scenes where he has to spar with a wooden sword so physical skills are important. A very good and memorable new part being introduced in this season.

Boy Aged 7
Aged 7 with dark brown hair, a narrow face and striking green eyes. Northern accent required. Athletic and charismatic. He has scenes where he has to spar with a wooden sword so physical skills are important. A good new part for a sparky and talented young boy being introduced this season.

The initial guesses were for the aged seven boy as the 12-year old got the character's eye color wrong. But the Watchers say the expanded description make the 12-year old a more logical description for Ned Stark.

Further speculations say that if that is true, then the 7-year-old may be green-eyed Benjen Stark or maybe even, Littlefinger.

There was also another casting call for a "large boy" aged 10 to 12, who can portray a character who is 7 to 8 years old. This character is most likely young Hodor pre-injury or young Robert Baratheon.

Fans of George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy story sure are in a bit of a dry spell these days. "Game of Thrones" is not set to return until next year and there is still no definite date regarding the release of the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "Winds of Winter."
