After putting up a good fight with her mother, Irene, in the past few chapters of "Fairy Tail," the upcoming chapter 524 of the manga series may feature Erza returning to the scene to fight another formidable opponent.

The last time Erza was featured on the pages of "Fairy Tail" was in chapter 519 of the manga series, which featured Irene eventually killing herself instead of stabbing Erza. While the succeeding chapters of "Fairy Tail" devoted its pages to the other characters of the series, the latest reports claim that the upcoming chapter 524 of "Fairy Tail" will usher back Erza as she faces another formidable opponent. As to who this opponent is, fans can speculate for now.

However, there is a possibility that Erza will face Acnologia as the "Fairy Tail" villain made a surprising comeback in the just-released back-to-back chapters 522 and 523 of the manga. While some suspect that the upcoming chapter will feature the fight between Natsu and Zeref, some believe that it may feature Erza battling it out with Acnologia, too.

As Acnologia showed up in the vicinity of Irene and Erza's battle, some suspect that he might have wanted to fight the then-clashing mother and daughter. Will Acnologia and Erza finally engage in a showdown of force in "Fairy Tail" chapter 524?

Again, fans can only wait and see.

Some fans of the manga series discuss on Reddit what may possibly happen in the future chapters of "Fairy Tail," and others have expressed their belief that Acnologia may be after Wendy.

Whether it is Erza or Wendy that Acnologia will be fighting, one thing is for sure: The Black Dragon Slayer is back and will surely make the upcoming chapters of "Fairy Tail" even more action-packed and entertaining.
