The 'Empire,' , which premiered last Sept. 23, has just expanded into season two. With the second episode just over and done with, what is going to happen to the Empire Entertainment and Lucious Lyon? Some surprising twists and turns, says episode three's official synopsis.

When 'Empire' season two returns with its third episode next week, Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) and Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) will surprisingly work together once more. This move will have Pitbull, who guest stars in the episode as himself, sit up and notice. There are also some stuff going on with Lucious, Hakeem, and Andre.

CarterMatt reports the full synopsis, which reads, "Cookie and Anika secretly work together behind Lucious' back to pull off a surprise performance that catches the eye of Pitbull (guest-starring as himself). Meanwhile, Lucious tracks down Frank Gathers' daughter, Young Ma (guest star Bre-Z Murray), to try to convince her to sign with him at Empire, while Hakeem is hard at work on his girl group, Ménage a Trois. Also, Andre and Rhonda hope their baby-on-the-way will be the key that unlocks Lucious' cold heart and opens the door for Andre to return to the Empire fold."

Andre surely cannot catch a break, ever since the start of the season (and even way before that). He has done what he could to finally get Lucious on his side but has so far been unsuccessful. Will his new baby be enough to win him favors? And if yes, will Lucious' support be what he made it out in his head to be?

So far, the new season has released the Empire CEO from prison (albiet temporarily) and launched a start-up record label named Dynasty courtesy of Cookie. How heated the competition between Empire and Dynasty will be is something worth watching in the next few weeks.

Episode three is titled 'Fires of Heaven' and will pilot on Oct. 7. 'Empire' airs on Fox every Wednesday night.
