Elder Scrolls 6: Still no release date, as 'Elder Scrolls Online' goes live on Steam
It has been three years since the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been launched and there is no confirmation from Bethesda regarding the development of an Elder Scrolls VI.
Speculations, however, surfaced as anticipating fans saw a recent job opening on the Zenimax website that reads:
"Bethesda Game Studios is looking for experienced programmers to work on cutting-edge technology for an unannounced game on future-generation consoles."
Zenimax Studios is one of Bethesda's arms and is responsible for developing the Elder Scrolls franchise.
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was released in 2002, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in 2006 and the last installment, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was launched in 2011.
Looking at the pattern, the sixth episode could arrive anytime between 2015 and 2016.
There are rumors that with Elder Scrolls 6 could possibly take place in the continent of Tamriel and players will be able to explore the regions of Cyrodiil and Morrowmind, the setting of Elder Scrolls IV and III respectively.
Several fanboys are taking their ideas to the forums and one said:
"All of Tamriel would be awesome, Morrowind again would also be awesome but hopefully they'd actually include the part of Morrowind attached to the mainland. My personal choice of Hammerfel though."
While waiting for Elder Scrolls 6, gamers can try their hand at the newly launched Elder Scroll Online on Steam where they can play online with friends.
Players can pick up this game for half the price until the month ends.
The Elder Scrolls Online is a precursor of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and takes place just before the rise of Tiber Septim, the first Emperor of Tamriel.
The story revolves around three alliances that are struggling to claim supremacy over the land, while the dark forces move in to destroy their world.
The Elder Scrolls is also celebrating 20 years of bringing role-playing games into diverse platfroms.
