'Doctor Strange' spoilers: Mads Mikkelsen on his role as a villain and how the movie has a "different feel" for a Marvel movie

(Marvel)Marvel's first official poster for the upcoming movie "Dr. Strange."

All eyes are set on the premiere date of the highly anticipated movie, "Doctor Strange." Actor Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the role of the film's main villain, went on record about why the film is set to be a different kind of Marvel movie.

In his interview with Yahoo! UK Movies, the actor said that the film adaptation is going to be quite different from the usual Marvel films that fans have grown familiar with. It is said that "Doctor Strange" is going to bring in a lot of mysticism to the Marvel universe.

"I don't know if you're familiar with the old comics but it's quite a specific universe, with Kung Fu and Magic... so what's not to love, really?" the actor said.

The movie's plot follows the story of a brilliant neurosurgeon who damaged his hands after a grave accident. Wanting to be able to operate again, he proceeded to travel the world to find a fix for his hands, eventually encountering the Ancient One in the process. With the Ancient One's help, he learned the ways of the ancient mystical martial arts, thus beginning his quest to become the planet's most powerful sorcerer.

But where does Mikkelsen fit in all of these? Even though the actor kept mum about his being the film's main villain, he added that even that fact is subject to interpretation.

"He's not a villain in that way — he's a man who believes in something else than the hero," the actor explained. He furthered that his character might have a different way of viewing and doing things but it does not mean that he doesn't want to live in a world of peace. He's a villain alright, but it doesn't necessarily make him the wrong one.

All the public has seen from "Doctor Strange" so far are sneak peeks from its teaser trailers. By the looks of it, it seems that viewers are getting more and more convinced that they are going to be in one hell of a strange ride once the film hits theaters worldwide.

"Doctor Strange" stars Benedict Cumberbatch and is coming to theatres on Nov. 4.
