'Dark Souls 3' DLC news: First of the two expansions rumored to release later this August

(Dark Souls Game/ Twitter)"Dark Souls 3" DLC may come out later this August.

Fans of the role-playing video game "Dark Souls 3" should be on the lookout this month because one DLC may drop this August.

Game developer Bandai Namco had previously reported that it will be releasing two more downloadable expansion packs in the coming months. Although the gaming company did not disclose when the release date will be, it was first rumored to come out in September. Now, new reports suggest that the first DLC of the last two will be dropping late this month.

However, there are other reports saying that the upcoming DLC will come out later than expected after "Dark Souls 3" co-director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed in an interview that he is currently busy working on a couple of projects other than the DLC. "I'm actually working on the DLC for Dark Souls 3, and have been focusing on a number of new projects," he told Kotaku.

Miyazaki also added, "Content-wise, it builds off of the previous titles and will be featuring a new area, enemies, gear, and story. The game story revolves around a new location which I believe will offer a different feel from 'Dark Souls 3.' Please stay tuned!"

Other reports also revealed that the second expansion pack may come out early in 2017. It is expected to feature more story arcs, armor and player upgrades, and heaps of new creatures.

Rumor has it that Miyazaki's FromSoftware, which is the main developer of the title, is eyeing on creating multiple endings for the game. But in the same Kotaku report, the co-director revealed that although he has already thought of four possible endings for the game, he may eventually choose one to cap the entire title. Since the ending is one of the most important parts of any game, it will take time to decide which one would best fit the game.

More details of "Dark Souls 3" DLC are expected to come out very soon.
