'Daredevil' season 3 release date rumors: Next installment delayed 2018?
Following the announcement that "Daredevil" will definitely get a third season, new reports are claiming that the show's return may be pushed to a date not later than 2018.
The third season was announced during Marvel's San Diego Comic-Con panel session last month, although no exact premiere date was given. However, as Day Herald notes, this year is a very busy one for Marvel and Netflix.
In September, "Luke Cage" will be launched, followed by "Iron Fist" and finally, "The Defenders." Aside from the three new shows, "Jessica Jones" is also rumored to enter the picture come 2017. Could this mean that "Daredevil" season three won't be anywhere near small screens in the next year due to other upcoming shows?
The report has yet to be confirmed by Marvel, but fans are still hoping that the third season will soon come out. Furthermore, Netflix usually releases up to two Marvel shows in a year and with "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist in the picture, plus "The Defenders" and "Jessica Jones" in 2017, there may be no slot left for "Daredevil."
Meanwhile, it is speculated that Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock will be leading the threesome band of "The Defenders" when it premieres in early 2017. This could be a reasonable storyline since Daredevil was first given a solo project and may have the most number of followers and fans.
Other reports suggest that "Daredevil" season three may also feature cameo appearances by Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist since they are part of the team that will conquer New York City and the world next year.
It is also speculated that the upcoming installment will see Matt trying to figure out how to avoid the war that The Hand may bring upon Hell's Kitchen. Stick (Scott Glenn) told Matt in season two that The Hand is planning to attack New York very soon. Elektra (Elodie Yung) is also said to have a connection to the said war.
"Daredevil" season three's premiere has yet to be announced.
