'CSI: Cyber' news: Ted Danson's D.B. Russel will be show regular season 2
While fans of the original "CSI" bid farewell to their show, it seems like one character from it is set to be part of the new spin-off, "CSI: Cyber."
According to Ksite TV, D.B. Russell, played by Ted Danson, will be joining the cast for its second season. Danson is said to be part of the Oct. 7 episode, and will be part of the cast soon after.
Christian Today has also reported that the new addition to the group will not sit well with one particular member, Avery Ryan, played by Patricia Arquette. While she is poised to replace Simon Sifter, played by Peter MacNicol, Danson's introduction to the group will stir the insecurities of Arquette's character. Danson is also rumored to be heading the Next Generation Cyber Forensics division.
Executive producer Pam Veasey, recently sat down with TV Guide and had this to say about what is to come for Avery Ryan, "It means different things for her job. She sees that Sifter's job involved a lot of dealing with the brass and the politics of cyber."
As for Danson, he recently sat down with Zap2it and said that he was excited to be working alongside Arquette and the team. "I'm off to do 'CSI: Cyber' and I'm really looking forward to it. I get to work with Patricia and James (Van Der Beek) and Peter (MacNicol), a bunch of really interesting folks," he said.
The first season of the show left fans with more questions, as the season finale saw Krumitz, played by Charley Koontz, finding out the his sister killed the murderer behind their parent's death. The second season will see Krumitz in a new light as he is torn between helping his sister or not as he is set to testify at his sister's trial.
"CSI: Cyber" is set to premiere on Oct. 4.
