Is he in or out? This is the question that Dallas Cowboys and its quarterback Tony Romo still have to answer. Both parties have not come up with a solution yet on what to do with Romo. Serious talks are expected to happen, but no one knows when.

Until the management of the Cowboys irons out this issue, fans are left with no choice but to speculate on what Romo can do with his current contract. As of the moment, Romo is not demanding nor expecting anything from the Cowboys, as pointed out by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

It can be noted that Romo's future in the team was compromised after Carson Palmer decided to return to Dallas to play for 2017 season. This stirred rumors that other teams like Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are interested in hiring Romo.

On the other hand, there are talks that Romo would most likely want to be released. If this happens, Romo will have the option to choose his own team and demand for better market value.

Sports analysts say Romo has the upper hand in the situation. If no team is willing to trade him and absorb his present contract, Dallas will have two options: keep him for $14 million this season or release him.

NFL Trade Rumor points out that Romo will enter his fourth year for Dallas. His contract is seven years amounting to $119.5 million, including $55 million guaranteed pay. His base pay will be $14 million this year, $19.5 million next year, and $20.5 million in 2019.

According to OverTheCap.com, if the Cowboys will release or trade Romo, they will make $5.1 million free in available cap space. However, the cap could improve to $14 million cap savings if they were to sign him after June 1.

Last year, Romo appeared in one game only. He scored one touchdown for the Cowboys.
