Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors 2016: Kevin Love swap for Paul Millsap?

The Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love remains a favorite in trade talks, and now, a new potential deal sees him joining the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Paul Millsap.

It seems like Love was destined to be one of the top names in the trade rumor mill since he arrived in "The Land." He has been linked to a number of teams already and speculations intensified this off-season.

Some of the squads connected to Love were the Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets, but perhaps none of these organizations will land him when the Cavs finally deal him away.

Maybe the franchise that might acquire Love when a trade becomes official are the Hawks.

In a report by Yibada.com, a swap involving Love and Millsap was suggested and it might work for their respective teams.

It was stated the Hawks are searching for offensive help and they may find it in Love. If the 27-year-old heads to Atlanta, aside from being a top scoring option again, he has the chance to re-establish himself as one of the best power forwards in the league.

Love's shooting will also help the Hawks space the floor better for more scoring opportunities, especially for center Dwight Howard in the paint.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers' defense will improve with Millsap. The 31-year-old is going to better the front line for the reigning champions. Yibada.com mentioned that unlike Love, he will not be "pressured" to score in bunches since franchise superstar LeBron James and point guard Kyrie Irving are the ones leading the offense.

That is the problem with Love playing for the Cavs. Many are expecting him to explode on offense just like during his days with the Minnesota Timberwolves. But because James and Irving are carrying the offensive load for the champs, he needed to take the backseat and let them do their thing. This could be one of the reasons why his performance diminished since he arrived in Cleveland.
