'Civilization 6' cheats, tips & tricks: How to get around city defenses, reveal maps

(Facebook/civ)"Civilization 6" is available to purchase now.

"Civilization 6" is an extremely popular game right now. However, while there are players out there who are determined to make it through on their own, there are also those who prefer to read about certain hacks and tricks they can employ in-game.

Exploring the whole map found in the game is something that will take time and effort. It even requires certain resources like Scouts, in order to complete. In order to get around this, players only need to change the config.ini file in the folder where the game is located. Opening the file on Notepad and changing the DebugPane value from zero to one will help ease things. Players only need to save the file and the Debug console can be activated by pressing ['] tilde in-game. Players must then open the Debug Window and choose "Reveal All."

However, it should be noted that this cheat will only work if the player is on offline mode.

When it comes to disabling walls and city defenses, the only thing players need to do is go to the Steam directory and look for the "Buildings" and "Civics" file names. Before doing anything else, though, it is important to create backups so that nothing is permanently changed.

Once the files are open, players need to change the OuterDefenseHitPoints="50" and OuterDefenseStrength="2" in the "Buildings" file. Reverting the values from 50 and 2 to 0 should do the trick. Take note, though, that these codes appear in three areas, so make sure to change all three before saving.

On the other hand, players have to change the DefenseValue of 200 to 0 in the "Civics" file, in order to disable the wall defenses.

When it comes to tasks, players have to remember that assigning them to Builders instead of Workers will be of more help because Builders are more efficient and effective. Additionally, Traders and Military Engineers are also preferred.
