Brangelina divorce news: Brad Pitt talks to Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight
The world simultaneously mourned when Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, dubbed by many as "Brangelina," announced their divorce. Now, news has broke that Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight, has been speaking to her equally estranged husband.
Voight and Jolie have been documented to have a rocky relationship at best. However, it looks like Pitt has had a better relationship with Jolie's father.
According to Us Weekly, the in-laws have stayed close through the years ever since Pitt and Jolie first started dating in 2005. The "Ocean's Eleven" star has apparently been talking to Voight about the impending divorce.
"[Brad] told her dad that what he loves about her is how passionate and extreme she is. He's been drawn to that," a source told the publication. Voight, on the other hand, described his daughter as "erratic" and compared her to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who passed away in 2007.
And as expected, the Academy Award-winning actress isn't too pleased with the situation. "She is really pissed at her dad," the source continued. "She is really bothered that he is talking to Brad. ... Angelina is speaking to [Voight] but not a lot and not telling him hardly anything because she doesn't trust him."
The "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" stars have six children together: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8. Pitt saw his children, apart from Maddox, for the first time on Oct. 8 ever since Jolie filed for divorce.
Their children have always been most important to the couple, even going as far as hiring ex-SAS Mark Billingham as their bodyguard, concerned about stalkers and kidnappers. Billingham recently spoke to The Sun about his time as head of their security. He described the time he spent with them as "challenging, but interesting." Billingham also recalled an event with one of Jolie's stalkers, as well as Brad's prankster ways. Once he heard about their split, he admitted that he was also shocked.
