'Bones' season 12 spoilers: Buck and Wanda return to investigate a horrible demolition derby accident
Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Booth (David Boreanaz), and Aubrey (John Boyd) will try to infiltrate the rowdy world of demolition derby on the next episode of "Bones" season 12.
The synopsis for the episode titled "The Steel in the Wheels" reveals that the forensic anthropologist and the FBI agents will go undercover and wear tacky wardrobes to investigate the brutal death of a young man in a dreadful hay baler accident.
Booth and Brennan will resurrect their Buck and Wanda persona for their upcoming assignment, complete with 1990's style mullet and high, curly hair wig. But in the trailer for the upcoming episode, the couple will argue about joining the demolition derby competition. Booth appears to be excited to drive one of the mean-looking vehicles, while Brennan believes that it is a crazy and dangerous idea.
The synopsis also reveals that Booth's friend Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Stephen Fry) will return to the Jeffersonian Institute to help Hodgins (TJ Thyne) and Cam (Tamara Taylor) prove that Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) is innocent in the Gormogon case.
In a previous interview with TV Guide, executive producer Michael Peterson revealed that Fry will play an important role in re-opening Zack's case, especially since he is the only one that Booth can trust with Lance Sweets' (John Francis Daley) notes.
"That's a big part of where Stephen Fry is going to come back as Gordon Wyatt. Sweets, in a lot of ways, took over for [Gordon] when he first started at the FBI. [Gordon] went off and became a chef, but for Booth, the only person he would trust with Sweets' notes is absolutely Gordon Wyatt [Fry]," the executive producer stated. "That will be the introduction of his character to see what they can find out from Sweets' notes and his visits with Dr. Addy, to hopefully getting Zack released."
The next episode of "Bones" season 12 will air on FOX on Tuesday, March 7.
