'Big Hero 7' plot, premiere: Speculations on the sequel's release
It has been almost two years since the lovable characters of "Big Hero 6" were introduced to the audiences. A TV series that follows their adventure is already underway and a follow-up movie has also been mentioned by creator Stan Lee.
During the Gillette/Stark Industries event last year, Lee talked about the success of the Marvel franchise. He then mentioned the different projects at hand. He said, "After 'Ant-Man,' we're going to start playing around with 'Doctor Strange,' the 'Black Panther,' the 'Inhumans,' and we have to come back for, 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2,' 'Big Hero 6' the 'Avengers,' 'Captain America.'" He added, "I don't even know what to do next, because every one of them is so exciting and the public is waiting for them."
The public have definitely waited, anticipated, and monitored the developments of the movies mentioned. Production has already started for some and others have already secured a movie date. There is no mention about "Big Hero 6" yet whose sequel will be titled "Big Hero 7," but it is widely speculated to hit theaters by 2019.
Since the interview, "Ant-Man" and "Captain America: Civil War" have already hit theaters. "Doctor Strange" is set to premiere in November, while the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War" films are scheduled for release in 2018 and 2019.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is currently underway and is scheduled for an April 2017 release. "Black Panther" was introduced in "Captain America: Civil War" and his standalone film will hit the big screen in July 2018.
In 2014, "Inhumans" was announced to be released in November 2018 but was later pushed to July 2019. The release date was reportedly pushed back in favor of "Captain Marvel." Recent developments suggest "Inhumans" has been pushed back indefinitely.
A popular theory regarding "Big Hero 7" is that the upcoming movie will feature the return of Hiro's brother Tadashi who was believed to have died during the explosion. He is rumored to return as Sunfire whose involvement with the X-Men will also be tackled.
