'Better Call Saul' season 3 air date, spoilers: Bob Odenkirk confirms Gus Fring is back

(Better Call Saul / Facebook)AMC has yet to reveal the premiere date of "Better Call Saul" season 3.

Now that "Better Call Saul" is nearing its third season, fans are expecting more appearances from its parent show "Breaking Bad." In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bob Odenkirk (Saul) confirmed that "Breaking Bad" villain Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) is set to appear.

Fans of "Breaking Bad," who instantly became fans of its spin-off series "Better Call Saul," will be seeing another notable character from the parent show. When Jimmy Kimmel asked Odenkirk about a fan theory about Gus Fring, the lead actor confirmed that the drug kingpin will bump into Jimmy, who will later be known as Saul.

Apparently, creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould thought of creating the word "FRINGSBACK" by putting all the first letters of all the season 2 episode titles together. They initially thought that no one would notice. However, it turns out, just like "Breaking Bad," there are fans who pick on the tiniest details dropped by the minds behind the show.

"I'm looking for him. He's coming back," Odenkirk said. "They didn't think everyone would scrutinize the show that closely, and they did it, and the cats out of the bag. So I imagine he'll be in the first moment. That's what I...Let's go. Let's get to it, right?"

Aside from Esposito, the lead actor of "Breaking Bad" who played the iconic role of Walter White, Bryan Cranston, will be working for the spin-off series as well — at least behind the camera. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Cranston revealed that he agreed to Gilligan's offer to direct at least one episode of the upcoming season 3.

As to the possibility of his character Walter to make an appearance on "Better Call Saul," Cranston said that it depends on the timeline of the series. Jimmy was introduced to Walter in the second season of "Breaking Bad" so the actor is not sure if that will even be a part of the story.
