'Battlefield 5' release date, game details rumors: Next 'Battlefield' is set in WW I? Game to be released in October?
It looks like 2016 is a year for shooter games since several of such will be coming out sometime this year. One of them is the anticipated "Battlefield 5," which is said to arrive in the third quarter.
At Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference yesterday, Electronic Arts' (EA) Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen said the next "Battlefield" will come out between the end of September and end of December this year. This means that fans will have the holidays to look forward to.
"We've got a great year ahead," Jorgensen said in the conference, adding "We've got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter." Jorgensen also revealed that another game, "Titanfall," will also be released in that timeframe.
At the moment, the next "Battlefield" game is only dubbed as "Battlefield 5." Not much is known about the upcoming first-person shooter games, but the bosses have previously dropped some hints. Jorgensen already revealed in the past that "Battlefield" will return to focus more on its "military-style game."
Then again, no one knows just how much of a military style game "Battlefield 5" will be or what new elements the game will have, until now.
According to the game listing from a German online retailer, the next "Battlefield" will be a "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg" or in English, "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1." The listing has since been updated to only read "Multiplayer tactical shooter," but Twitter user @Doctor_cupcakes managed to share a screenshot of the original listing.
More interestingly, the game is said to arrive to Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Oct. 26, 2016. The unconfirmed report on the listed release date somehow fits into Jorgensen's timeline and one may think that the information is accurate.
However, it should be noted that until EA makes the announcement on the exact release date, everything else belongs to the unconfirmed reports category.
