"Bates Motel" is currently shooting its fifth and final season. And it looks like fans are not the only ones excited to see Rihanna as the iconic character, Marion Crane. Nestor Carbonell is equally thrilled to work with her as he is set to direct her episode.

It was previously reported that Carbonell, who also plays Alex Romero, will be directing the fifth episode of the final season. Another cast member, Max Thieriot, who plays Dylan, will direct the fourth episode.

While on a break from production, TMZ caught up with Carbonell and asked him about the fifth season and getting to work with the popular songstress. The actor revealed that he was excited about directing Rihanna's episode, but could not give away any other details since he didn't want to spoil it. When asked what his vision is for Marion's iconic death scene, Carbonell refrained from spilling the beans.

Apart from the "This Is What You Came For" singer, the final season of the A&E cult hit has also added Brooke Smith and Isabelle McNally to the cast. McNally is set to portray the role of Madeleine Loomis who is described as "a warm and kindhearted woman who bears a striking resemblance to a young Norma Bates." The surname "Loomis" certainly rings a bell because it also happens to be Sam's last name. It can be recalled that Sam Loomis was Marion's boyfriend in the original Alfred Hitchcock classic.

Despite this, it is unkown how Madeleine will play into the story. She could be Sam's wife or a different character entirely. Some reports have posited that Madeleine may be Marion's lesbian lover. Meanwhile, Smith will be playing the role of Dana Green, the new sheriff in town.

It has been made clear that "Bates Motel" will not tightly follow the events from "Psycho," so there are bound to be surprises along the way.

"Bates Motel" season 5 will premiere in 2017 on A&E.
