'Attack on Titan' season 2 spoilers, plot rumors: Upcoming season to be bloodier; major characters will die

(Twitter/Anime Shingeki)"Attack on Titan" season 2 is said to feature the deaths of some major characters.

Although there is still no certainty on when "Attack on Titan" season 2 will air, it is already anticipated that its forthcoming season will be bloodier and more action-packed than its first as it will be strongly anchored to its manga counterpart, which means it will feature the deaths of some of its characters.

If reports saying that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will stay true to its manga origins are to be believed, then those anticipating the return of the anime can, indeed, expect it to be bloodier as some of the characters may die. For one thing, it is widely speculated that the fight between Rogue Titan and Armored Titan will cause the death of one of them. Furthermore, rumors claim that it is also likely for Levi Ackerman to meet his demise in the upcoming season.

Apart from the deaths of some characters, the upcoming season may also feature the end of the clash between Rogue Titan and Armored Titan. Many followers of "Attack on Titan" —both manga and anime version — believe that the two shape-shifters are actually friends.

It is also likely for "Attack on Titan" season 2 to reveal the real identity of Krista as a member of the Reiss family, and she may even become the ruler. The event that will lead to this stems from Commander Smith's attempt to usurp the king, only to find out later on that it is the Reiss family who rules the kingdom and not the king himself.

While it's true that the events in "Attack on Titan" in the manga are exciting, indeed, there is still no certainty that its anime counterpart will really stay faithful to the series. With the absence of any verified information on the upcoming season of the series, everything is just a speculation at this point in time.

However, there is no denying that rumors claiming that the very reason why the anticipated season 2 of the anime has been delayed because it is still waiting for enough source materials from its manga counterpart have been persistent.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is rumored to air in March 2017.
