'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date: Release is delayed because of the manga

Fans of "Attack on Titan" may have wait to a little bit longer for the release of the second season because rumor has it, the creators of the anime would want to wait for more contents from the manga in order to show a plotline that is very close to the original. Here is the roundup of rumors and speculations for the upcoming season of the anime.

The previous rumored release date of "Attack on Titan" season 2 (Japanese title: "Shingeki no Kyojin") was mid or late 2016. However, new rumors are circulating online that the premiere will be moved significantly because of the manga.

According to reports, there are speculations that the manga creator Hajime Isayama and anime director Tetsuro Araki have agreed that the manga and the anime series must have a gap of four story arcs.

However, since the anime series is just two story arcs behind of the manga, the production team behind the anime might have to wait a little longer in order for Isayama to create more content to fill in the agreed gap.

"Attack on Titan's" plot revolves around Eren Yeager, his sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert as they deal with their lives in aftermath of a Colossal Titan's appearance that destroyed their hometown and killed Yeager's mother. Set in a world where living humans are surviving in the cities within the giant protective Walls, the trio joined the elite group of soldiers called Survey Corps to avenge the death of their loved ones and battle against the Titans in order to bring peace to the world.

The anime series, released initially in 2013, was produced by IG Port Wit Studio and was licensed by FUNimation for home video release in 2014.

The 25th and the last episode of the first season of the series, which was aired late in 2013, showed the trio and the Survey Cops' counter attack towards a Female Titan in Stohess district.
