At the Geneva International Motor Show event on Tuesday, Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced that anyone can already buy a Ferrari FF with Apple CarPlay "tomorrow". CarPlay is a rebrand of "iOS in the car".

While Apple is introducing the new innovation on a website implying a "Coming Soon", Ferrari is saying you can already buy it "tomorrow". Of course, "tomorrow" will not necessarily mean having your vehicle with CarPlay overnight. It will take the auto manufacturer a little while to accommodate the orders – sometimes taking a couple of months and sometimes years.

The New York Times reported that the chairman even apologized for out-of-stock models, such as LaFerrari, because all are sold out. However, they will soon have new models coming – all of them already featuring Apple CarPlay onboard.

Volvo and Mercedes-Benz are, together with Ferrari, set to adopt Apple's in-car infotainment system earlier than others.

CarPlay connects an iPhone to CarPlay, specifically the 5 series – iPhone 5, 5c and 5s – into the infotainment system, turning the car itself into an iPhone. Apps include music, phone, navigation and messaging. Siri is also featured in the system.

The Apple website explained that CarPlay is the safer and smarter way to use iPhone in the car. You just have to plug in your phone. It turns your vehicle into an iPhone while you drive, and the built-in display of your car has the apps that you need. You can place calls, get directions, listen to music as well as send and receive messages - all while staying focused on the road.
