In a little more than half a year, the sequel to "Annabelle" will be released and it seems like the "Annabelle" doll will not only scare the viewers as it has also terrified even the actors on set.

In a Cosmopolitan interview released last month, "Annabelle 2" costume designer Leah Butler revealed that one of the cast members of "Annabelle 2" was so freaked out about the doll that she insisted on having a priest be invited in to bless it.

Although Butler did not reveal the name of the actress, Butler revealed that the actress was a devout Catholic and suggested that, to avoid anything untoward happening during filming, the "Annabelle" doll should be blessed.

Butler revealed that the priest arrived during their lunch break to do the ceremony.

Although the title is "Annabelle 2," the upcoming film has actually been revealed be a prequel of the first film. "Annabelle 2" tells the story of a dollmaker and his wife whose only daughter suffers a tragic death.

The story would fast forward to 20 years and it is shown that the couple opened their house as a refuge for a nun and several girls after the orphanage that they were staying in closed down.

Horrific events would happen soon after.

David Sandberg is helming the movie from a script that was written by Gary Duaberman.

"Annabelle 2" stars Miranda Otto in an unrevealed role with Stephanie Sigman playing Sister Charlotte. Talitha Bateman and Anthony LaPaglia are also in the film as Janice and Samuel Mullins, respectively.

The film's predecessor, "Annabelle," which in itself was a spinoff of the popular, "The Conjuring," may have received mixed reviews from critics, but the film earned $256.9 million in the box office so it is no surprise that a sequel was immediately approved.

"Annabelle 2" is scheduled to be released in theaters starting May 19, 2017. Independent has reported that the U.K. release is scheduled for May 26, 2017.
