Android Wear 2.0 features: Release date tipped as October 15, Google facing billion-dollar lawsuit vs Oracle
Google is reportedly unwrapping Android Wear 2.0 with a Oct. 15 release date, just in time for the opening of the holiday season. Android Police reports that the update will bring multitude of bug fixes and new features.
BGR has also listed new elements that Android Wear 2.0 will carry including Bluetooth and GP support.
The first version of Android Wear currently supports Samsung Gear Live, Moto 360 and LG G Watch.
Google has been relatively quiet about Android L and projects around the operating system following the Google I/O Developers Conference this year.
Android remains to be the best-selling smartphone platform, and fans have been waiting for quite sometime for the next major update.
Google has also been dealing with a number of lawsuits involving the OS including a copyright case versus Oracle.
Oracle is seeking a settlement of almost $1 billion for alleged claims that Google has improperly integrated Java codes into Android.
With reports of Android users switching to the new iPhone 6 models, the Mountain View-based tech titan is in need of massive innovations to stimulate loyalty among fans that are being smitten by the thinner and bigger iPhones.
