Actor Evan Peters was cast in all five previous seasons of "American Horror Story" series. While his involvement in the upcoming season has not been officially announced, fans of the show are certain he will be back. Creator Ryan Murphy has been so secretive with details that a recent picture of Peters sporting a beard drew speculation on his role in the upcoming season.

Peters posted a captionless selfie of himself against a water and mountain background last week. In the photo, the usually clean-looking actor has grown medium-length wavy hair and a beard. The post currently has 100k likes and almost 14k comments, many of which are asking and speculating that the new look is for "American Horror Story" season 6.

The actor has yet to comment on his look and his involvement in the show. Peters has played various dark roles in the series. In "Murder House," he played a troubled teenager ghost named Tate Langdon, while he played a framed serial killer, Kit Walker, in "Asylum." In the third installment, "Coven," he played the romantic interest of a witch and his name was Kyle Spencer. He played a rebel named Jimmy Darling in "Freak Show." In the previous season, he played a serial killer once again, James March, who owned a hotel where his victim's bodies are dumped.

The only thing certain about season 6 is that the plot will involve children. A boarding school setting has been speculated, as well as an orphanage. It is also possible that there will be two settings as Murphy revealed that for the first time, the show writers are working on two stories.

Singer-actress Lady Gaga, who made a big impact in season 5, has confirmed her involvement. Although she will not be as prominent in the upcoming season, she has shared that her character will be essential to the plot.

"American Horror Story" season 6 is expected to premiere in October.
