Chevrolet has introduced the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The all-new Corvette Grand Sport is a lightweight and aerodynamic sports car available as a coupe and a convertible. Its design was inspired by the original Grand Sport which was considered as one of the world's best sports car back in 1963.

"Racing has been part of Corvette's essence for more than 50 years and that track experience has helped us build better, more capable cars. The global acclaim for the seventh-generation Corvette validates that direct link and the 2017 Grand Sport takes its track-bred technology to a new, exciting threshold," said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development and Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

In order to make the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport track-ready, it was given some of the Corvette Z06's components including a newly tuned chassis, upgraded cooling systems and many performance technologies. The front fascia also comes with the Z06's distinct looking grille and fenders that further enhances the Grand Sport's racing pedigree.

The Grand Sport also comes standard with a Brembo brake system, a magnetic ride control with stabilizer bars and springs, an electronic limited-slip differential, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Grand Sport-designed wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Customers can also avail of the Z07 package which would bring in a carbon-fiber aerodynamic package, carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires. The Grand Sport can also be customized in numerous options and packages including the Stingray's color palette, the Heritage package and racing stripes.

The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport is powered by the LT1 V8 naturally aspirated engine that delivers 460 horsepower. The engine is mated with a seven-speed manual transmission but can be availed with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Chevrolet has also released the Grand Sport Collector Edition which comes in a Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior color with bold Tension Blue graphics, satin black stripes and black wheels. The cabin also comes with Tension Blue leather and suede interiors.

The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport will be available starting summer 2016. The Collector Edition will be offered later in the year. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
