2016 Tokyo Auto Salon news: Subaru to unveil three concept vehicles developed by STI

Subaru will be unveiling three new concept vehicles during the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon taking place this Jan. 15 to 17. The concept cars were developed by Subaru's performance division, Subaru Technica International (STI).

Subaru's first concept vehicle is the STI Performance Concept aims to showcase STI's competence in delivering aftermarket parts. The concept vehicle is equipped with STI technologies and components, including the suspension and brake enhancements. The performance concept was also given exterior and interior upgrades. For motorsport capability, the Performance Concept was also equipped with an STI-tuned EJ20 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo racing engine.

The Levorg STI Concept comes with a sporty front fascia and STI-designed 18-inch aluminum wheels. It comes in a WR Blue Pearl exterior color as well as red-wine and black two-tone interiors. The Levorg STI Concept was created using high quality materials and exclusive accessories. The STI-tuned dampers help deliver superb ride quality, stability and handling.

The final concept model is the Subaru XV Hybrid STI. The concept vehicle showcases the Subaru XV's casual and active nature but STI has further enhanced its sporty characteristic. The concept vehicle comes with a Quarts White Silica exterior color with orange accents. Inside the cabin, the interiors feature an orange and beige theme. STI has also given the vehicle sports parts to further improve ride quality and stability. The Subaru XV Hybrid STI Concept is set to provide customers with a fun-to-drive experience.

During the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon, Subaru will also be showcasing two racing cars – the WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016 and the BRZ GT300 2016. The WRX racing car is set to compete at the 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race and the BRZ is competing in the Super GT race.
