2016 presidential polls latest results update: Democrats top Republicans in new poll

With the heat of the 2016 presidential race gradually rising to its peak, a new poll reveals that the Democratic party has more chances of winning in terms of hypothetical general election matchups, meaning Donald Trump may see defeat when the day of reckoning comes.

According to a new CNN/ORC poll, both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are way ahead of Trump among registered voters. The results reveal Clinton is leading Trump by a double-digit number with 52 percent over the business man's 44 percent.

As for Sanders, the winds of time seem to be in his favor as the poll shows that he is above the three strongest candidates in the Republican party. The Vermont senator leads Trump at 55 percent to 43 percent and is also leading both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio by double digits.

Aside from the general idea that puts Democrats in a higher position than Republicans, the poll also speaks a lot about the candidates' appeal among younger and independent voters. Sanders has the most positive aura among those surveyed, and compared to Clinton, he has better chances of possibly toppling over the Republican men.

Despite Trump and Clinton's big wins on Super Tuesday, the new poll suggests that Sanders still has a chance to rise above the ruins and possibly become the Democratic frontrunner.

On the other hand, Clinton still has a good future ahead of her if the next states to hold primaries and caucuses will decide that she is the kind of president they want. The poll shows that the majority pick the former Secretary of State over Trump in aspects that tackle health care, foreign policy, and race issues.

While the business mogul is the most favorable candidate in terms of economy, terrorism, and immigration, there is an obvious battle between the two frontrunners when the topic on gun policy is up.

Overall, Sanders holds the trophy as the most favorable candidate in the 2016 presidential race, with 60 percent likability among the people, meaning the majority view his run positively.
