Xiaomi Mi 4c release date on September 22 with expected price tag of $235
With Xiaomi due to release the Mi 4c in an event to be held on Sept. 22, it is not surprising that attention has been slowly turning to the device and its rumored features and specs. And with a number of leaks about the smartphone surfacing over the last few weeks, very little information about it remains unclear at this point.
Reporting on the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 4c, GSMArena stated that the date of its release first appeared via a rumor, which was then confirmed by Xiaomi, when they sent out invitations to the press. It also added that the device will only be released in China and while this seems obvious since Xiaomi is a Chinese manufacturer, the Xiaomi Mi 4c could still be made available to a few more countries.
As for the device's design, it is expected to look similar to the Mi 4 externally but its hardware is going to be upgraded. Current rumors point toward a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 chipset being on board. It is expected to be coupled with a hexa-core CPU. There are also going to be two models available and the starting version will have 16 GB of internal storage along with 2 GB of RAM and another version with 32 GB of internal storage with 3 GB of RAM. Rumors also suggest that a 64 GB model of the Mi 4c will be released but it is not clear if it will have the same 3 GB RAM.
PhoneArena stated that Xiaomi has indicated that only about 100,000 units of the Mi 4c will be made. After its unveiling to the public on Sept. 22, the handset will then be launched on Oct. 3. As for the pricing of the 32 GB model, it will be around $235 USD. It will come with a Type-C USB port and an adapter which can be attached to the included Micro-USB cable.
Finally, with Xiaomi providing no indications about the arrival of the Mi 5, it seems highly likely that the company is waiting for the Snapdragon 820.
