"A Song Of Ice and Fire" readers are agonizingly waiting for book 6 titled "Winds Of Winter" to release soon. George RR Martin, brilliant author of the series, and Harper Collins had previously hinted that the book wouldn't be released this year. Expectant fans were told book 6 would release in 2016, but that may not be true.

At the HBO "Game Of Thrones" press event, Martin may have dropped some hints on the release date of "Winds of Winter". According to some interviewers and as reported by KDrama Stars, "Winds Of Winter" may release in October 2015 alongside "A Knight Of Seven Kingdoms".

Martin allegedly said that he is putting some finishing touches to the book and it would be released sometime in October. Previously, fans expected only "A Knight Of Seven Kingdoms" to be released this year, but it seems readers may be in for a pleasant surprise. This is certainly good news for bibliophiles raring for "Winds Of Winter". The wait has been quiet long since the last book, "A Dance With Dragons", released in 2011.

Martin isn't the only one dropping hints that the book is almost over. Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau seemed confident that the author has finished his book in an interview with Men's Health. A dashing and fit Coster-Waldau said, "[The show bosses] know as much as George RR Martin knows. He hasn't written the books, but he knows how he wants it to end. Well, I think he's written one of them now. I don't know when it comes out but I'd assume soon."

The actor also emphasized that the show will surpass the books in the forthcoming season five. When that happens, avid readers of the book can no longer expect the expected.

Meanwhile, Martin told Access Hollywood that work on season six has started already. He said "We are already at work on Season 6. I met with David Benioff and Dan Weiss and Bryan Cogman [Friday] night and we had a long talk about some of the stuff that will be included in Season 6, but we haven't started writing that one yet."

Martin also stressed the fact that readers should not expect characters that are alive in the books to be alive on the show. "Game Of Thrones" season five premieres on April 12 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
