'Vikings' season 4B episode 1 rumors: King Ecbert to die in the hands of Ragnar?
"Vikings" is finally heading back to the small screen for its season 4B beginning next month, and it is alleged that somebody will die in the first episode of the historical drama fiction's second half of its season 4.
The upcoming season 4B of "Vikings" will kick off with an episode titled "The Outsider." According to reports, in the upcoming episode, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) returns to Kattegat after years of wandering since his defeat in Paris and still has the burning desire to avenge the murdered Vikings in Wessex. Based on the synopsis of the said episode, fans can expect the "The Outsider" to cast the spotlight on Ragnar's return to Kattegat, and it is likely that he is the outsider being referred to in the episode title.
It can be recalled that in the midseason 4 finale of the series, Ragnar was defeated by his own brother Rollo (Clive Standen) in the epic battle that transpired in Paris. However, Ragnar did not head back to Kattegat immediately, and, once he returns, his sons are all grown up already. Reportedly, apart from his people, Ragnar's sons will not be very enthusiastic about his return and will even threaten to kill him.
Although Ragnar kept quiet about the killings of Vikings in Wessex back in the series' season 3, as he wanted his men to concentrate on their upcoming battle in Paris then, that event is definitely not water under the bridge for him. Now that their Paris saga and battle are done and over with, Ragnar will, reportedly, make sure that King Ecbert (Linus Roache) will pay for his treachery as he was the one who ordered his son Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) to wipe out the Vikings settlers in Wessex. Hence, it is suspected that King Ecbert will be the first casualty when "Vikings" season 4B begins airing.
Apart from the imminent battle between Ragnar and King Ecbert, the upcoming first episode of "Vikings" season 4B will also feature the clash between Ragnar's two wives, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland), which Winnick described earlier as an interesting catfight.
"It's going to be a cat fight. The two power women go head to head. It's a really interesting scene because you don't expect what happens," Winnick said to Entertainment Weekly back in July.
"Vikings" returns to the History Channel on Nov. 30 for its season 4B.
