'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' voice actor Nolan North reveals 'The Last of Us 2' by accident
Nolan North, one of the main voice actors of the game, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," accidentally revealed that the company is now working on "The Last of Us 2."
During his panel at Metrocon 2015 last week, North was asked if he still has an upcoming project for Naughty Dogs and if "The Last of Us" was his last. And as reported by Gearnuke, North answered, "For now the last one. I know they're doing The Last of Us 2, but my character in The Last of Us had an untimely demise."
His statement during the panel is full of mystery. Fans of the game have been wondering if he actually intended to reveal the game's sequel or if he indeed unknowingly revealed a secret.
Meanwhile, Troy Baker, one of the leading voice actors in "The Last of Us," said he is not aware if the company is making a sequel to the game or not. Baker said during a panel at Indy PopCon last weekend, "I know nothing. I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not." He also added "If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann, creative director] and Bruce [Straley, game director] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told."
Baker was also asked for a potential setting in case the company does make a sequel and responded with, "You know, spoiler, when you go from the prologue and then credits and then cut to 20 years later, you see a completely different guy."
Baker's comment regarding the sequel does not actually disprove its existence, as he may simply be unaware of the game's status. As IGN pointed out, this could mean that Joel's story is now done and it is time to introduce a new lead character in the sequel — if the company does decide to make it happen.
Making things more exciting is a report from Polygon, saying that one character artist from the studio, Secret Six, has listed "The Last of Us 2" as a current project.
