'Transformers: The Last Knight' spoilers: Will Optimus Prime meet Merlin?
Following the confirmation of the existence of a new "Transformers" movie, which is officially titled "The Last Knight," fans have been speculating about what this movie will be about.
While some of the actors from the previous installments have already been confirmed to reprise their roles, the plot details remain scarce. However, new information from Joblo might just give clues to the story of "The Last Knight."
According to the publication, "The Last Knight" will center on Optimus Prime's return to his home planet, Cybertron. Unfortunately, he discovers that his home has been destroyed. He also believed that it was his actions that led to this consequence. To help restore his planet, he sets off to Earth to find an artifact that should help him rebuild.
The odd thing about the alleged leaked plot is that "The Last Knight" will be mixed with the world of Merlin the wizard. It is said that Merlin got his powers from a Transformer and the artifact plays a role in this story.
It remains to be seen what kind of artifact Optimus will be after but it's expected that he'll be making his way back and forth between his home planet and Earth.
As for the characters and the robots, the publication noted that Bumblebee will return but will be more of a leader as Optimus pursues his own mission. Drift, Crosshairs, Hound and the Dinobots are also said to be part of the movie.
For actors, it was already confirmed that Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as Cade Yeager. Josh Duhamel, who played the role of Lt. Colonel William Lennox in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," is also on board. The newcomer is said to be Sir Anthony Hopkins, whose role is still undisclosed. However, speculations are rife that he'll voice one of the robots, most likely The Creator, who is involved in the origins of the robots.
"Transformers: The Last Knight" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017.
