Tim Tebow news: Would the Denver Broncos consider him?
The closest that Tim Tebow came to returning to the National Football League (NFL) was a preseason outing with the Philadelphia Eagles last year. He was signed to a one-year deal but was eventually cut off in September after the Eagles' fourth preseason outing.
Since then, nothing has been heard of Tebow, although his name could crop up once again soon in NFL rumors.
With the Denver Broncos struggling to find a suited quarterback following the retirement of Peyton Manning and departure of Brock Osweiler, Tebow is now being mentioned as a possible (though long shot) option.
Ironically, Tebow started out with the Super Bowl 50 champions. He was drafted 25th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Even though he signed a five-year deal with the Broncos with a base value of $11.25 million, he was traded to the New York Jets following the arrival of Manning. He spent only a year there before moving over to the New England Patriots (2013) and then the Eagles.
Tebow didn't exactly have a stellar NFL career, but his popularity was overwhelming. Given that and the needs of the Broncos, he is seen as a long shot unless he has for some reason improved immensely to be considered as the next starting quarterback for the Broncos.
All that seems to be wishful thinking, with Tebow likely to be the worst case option, even though the options of the Broncos are not that many for their quarterbacking needs.
The Broncos have set their sights on Colin Kaepernick, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Robert Griffin III, even though they could be in a tough grind.
The latest on the Broncos is that they have acquired the services of Mark Sanchez from the Philadelphia Eagles after trading away a 2017 conditional pick, as tweeted by John Elway, Broncos general manager.
Acquired QB Mark Sanchez for a conditional '17 pick. He brings veteran leadership & will compete. This is the 1st step in our process.

Despite the acquisition of Sanchez, Elway is still looking for another quarterback which could be any of the three previously mentioned (Kaepernick, Fitzpatrick, or Griffin).
