"Thor: Ragnarok" is rounding up Asgard's mightiest, but that doesn't mean the God of Thunder won't need any help from his allies. Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, has already been confirmed to appear in the upcoming sequel. And while it is generally assumed that Doctor Strange will also be present, it was never really confirmed outright.

Benedict Cumberbatch was always expected to reprise his role in "Thor: Ragnarok," especially after the mid-credits scene that played during "Doctor Strange." In it, Chris Hemsworth's Thor meets with the mystical sorcerer, who assures the Norse god that he will aid him in his search for Odin (Anthony Hopkins). But no announcement of Cumberbatch's inclusion in the third "Thor" fim was ever made.

However, according to Cinema Blend, confirmation has come from D23, the official Disney fan club. It is unknown how reliable this information is, but the publication does go on to quote the article posted on the D23 website.

"If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, 'Thor: Ragnarok' in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new," it reads.

It remains to be seen just how vital Doctor Strange's role will be in "Thor: Ragnarok." The amount of screen time Cumberbatch gets is anyone's guess. But it will certainly be interesting to see him interacting with Thor, the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston). 

"Thor: Ragnarok" will also see the "Planet Hulk" storyline from the comic books take life. Director Taika Waititi revealed as much in an interview with Total Film magazine when he mentioned Sakaar, the place where the Asgardian hero and the green giant reunite. 

"Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, futuristic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters," Waititi said.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will premiere in theaters on Nov. 3.
