'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' season 8 will show Kandi Burruss' pregnancy
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season seven wrapped more than three months ago, so it is not surprising that fans of the reality series are already excited for the show's return.
While the release date for season eight has yet to be announced, reports claim that the show is already in the thick of filming and it seems like the upcoming season would feature one less beloved cast member.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta," which first aired in 2008, is a reality television program which is the third installment of the "Real Housewives" franchise following Orange County and New York City.
It focuses on the lives of women living in Atlanta, Georgia. On its first season, the show followed five women including Lisa Wu-Hartwell, Deshawn Snow, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak and Sheree Whitfield.
Hartwell, Snow, Zolciak, and Whitfield has since left the show and it seems like after seven seasons, Leakes, would also say goodbye to the RHOA.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the Georgia native announced her decision to leave the reality series saying that while the decision was hard it was the right time for her to pursue other projects.
"This was definitely a hard decision for me. Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things," said Leakes.
While there is no denying that the departure of Leakes would be felt once the show returns, it seems like cast member, Kandi Burruss only has good news as recently it was confirmed that the reality star is pregnant with her second child and her first with now husband, Todd Tucker. Because her pregnancy coincided with the shooting of season eight, Burruss has claimed that audiences would be privy to the development of her pregnancy.
"Obviously you will get to see a lot of our journey through this pregnancy, but other than that it will be drama as usual."
Bravo has yet to announce the release date for "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season eight.
