'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, cast: 'Harry Potter' alum Tom Felton joins as Julian Dorn
"The Flash" just got a bit more magical as Tom Felton has been confirmed to be joining season 3 of the hit superhero series. Felton is known for his role of sometimes-bad guy Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" franchise.
Felton will be starring as a series regular, playing a character named Julian Dorn, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Julian is also a CSI at the Central City Police Department who grows suspicious of Barry Allen.
There are speculations surrounding Felton's character since none by the name of Julian Dorn appears in the DC comic books. However, the publication posits that Julian could be "the new Barry" in the third season, which deals with the events of "Flashpoint" from the comics. "Flashpoint" is a timeline that sees Barry's mom alive, but Barry realizes he has no powers. This was the result of him travelling back in time to save his mother from dying.
However, since this is an adapted television show, there is also the possibility that Julian is actually a character from the comic books — only with a different name.
It was previously confirmed by Grant Gustin himself, the man who brings life to Barry Allen, that the first episode will be titled "Flashpoint." The star teased fans on his Twitter handle after being given permission to share the title of the premiere episode.
In other cast news, Violett Beane will also be returning to reprise her role in "The Flash" season 3. Beane plays Jesse Wells, who, by the end of season 2, got struck with the same force that hit Barry. However, it was revealed that she didn't get the same super-fast powers as the superhero. Since the door hasn't been completely shut on that possibility, though, there is still hope that fans will get to see more than one speedster in the upcoming season.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on Oct. 4, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
