With "The Elder Scrolls 6" currently under wraps and no indication if it is in development or not, gamers have been trawling through the Internet to get information about its possible release. However, with the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 upcoming, many are pinning their hopes on the game being showcased during the event, even though it could be released several years down the line.

Digital Spy, reporting on the possible release date for "The Elder Scrolls 6," first of all points out that by the time the game arrives in the market, it is likely to have a new name. For several months, there have been rumors that a new area in Tamriel will be focused on in the upcoming game and this reportedly means that the game's name will be derived from it. Among the areas that have not been focused on in previous games in this particular franchise is Black Marsh (which is otherwise known as Argonia), along with Valenwood and Elsweyr.

Additionally, there are chances that Morrowind, Battlespire and Regard could contribute to the name of the upcoming game, but as of now, most analysts and gamers are betting on Argonia. They are also hoping that if the particular area called Argonia is going to be dwelt on, the lizard-like Argonians will become the primary focus.

Meanwhile, another legion of gamers have been hoping that the next game, "The Elder Scrolls 6," will be a follow-up to Skyrim and therefore will be named "Skyrim 2." However, as this year's E3 kicks off in Los Angeles between June 14-16, gamers are hoping that Bethesda will put "Fallout 4" behind it and announce "The Elder Scrolls 6." Analysts however say that given the long development cycle for the Elder Scrolls franchise, a new game, even if it is announced anytime soon, will only be releasing in 2019. Bethesda has previously stated that it is aware of the popularity of "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" but it is not planning to pump out a sequel that quickly since they want "The Elder Scrolls 6" to be noteworthy when it releases.
