'The Big Bang Theory' season 9 spoilers: Bernadette and Howard 'ready to make best of' pregnancy
Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz (Melissa Rauch) are pregnant with their first child, and Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) just broke up with his first serious girlfriend, leaving him all alone again on Valentine's Day. These are two plots of the 15th episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 that had avid viewers talking.
The biggest drama yet in the episode is Rajesh's breakup with Emily Sweeney (Laura Spencer). The guy has never done it before, so he was all clueless how he would go about it. His friends cannot help him in this department either, as they are as inexperienced as him. So, he turned to Penny (Kaley Cuoco).
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Bernadette is pregnant when she told their rabbit Valentino, "We'll find another time to tell him I'm pregnant." This happened after a supposed their hot-tub date at home. The rabbit bit Howard, who freaked out and insisted they must go to the emergency even when Bernadette already assured him the rabbit has no rabies.
With the baby announcement, many fans are anticipating for the upcoming episodes. Many wish the writers would consider having a story arc wherein Howard becomes a stay-at-home dad while Bernadette continues her work. Bernadette had already made this prospect in case they get a baby in an episode in 2012.
But first, there will be an emotional rollercoaster the couple has to go through. This is something executive producer Steve Molaro emphasized in his talk with The Hollywood Reporter: "In the episode, they weren't really working hard at having a baby. I don't think either Bernadette or Howard has wrapped their heads around the idea of it. They're nervous, they're excited and they're not 100 percent ready to go with confidence so it's fun to see two people who just got on a rollercoaster that they weren't entirely sure they wanted to get on but they're ready to make the best of it."
"The Big Bag Theory" season 9 episode 16 will air on Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
