'The Affair' season 4 spoilers, news: Alison and Cole will continue affair; Helen chooses Noah over Vic
The multi-awarded series "The Affair" will return on its fourth season with a number of events stemming from the season finale of the season 3.
It is predicted that Cole Lockhart (Joshua Jackson) will continue his secret affair with his ex-wife, Alison Lockhart (Ruth Wilson). The two characters recently had a continuous contact with each other while sharing custody over their daughter Joanie.
It is worth noting that Alison lost custody over her daughter when the court declared that she is unfit as a mother due to her abrupt departure from Montauk.
The two characters even secretly spent the night together — beyond the knowledge of Luisa Leon Lockhart (Catalina Sandino Moreno), Cole's current partner — in the previous season. This strengthens the theory that the two will get back with each other for good.
On the other hand, Helen Solloway (Maura Tierney) might still choose to be with Noah — Alison's husband — over Dr. Vic Ullah (Omar Metwally). In the previous season, Helen stayed by Noah after he got imprisoned over the death of Scott Lockhart. Noah stayed at the basement of Helen's home, which facilitated the affair between the former lovers.
This series of event will continue to happen for the next season, much to the dismay of Noah's sister Nina Solloway (Jennifer Esposito). It is predicted that Nina will be back for the next season of "The Affair," with the actress expressing her intent to have the series offer a Nina's perspective.
"Yes, we do want to know more about Nina! Bring her back, Season 4. I would love it. I don't know anything now, but people were writing, 'We need Nina's point of view' ... We'd love to see Nina and her point of view, oh my God," she said in an interview with The Huffington Post.
However, the upcoming season might be the last installment of the series as spoiled by Sarah Treem, the executive producer and co-creator of the "The Affair."
In an interview with Variety, she added that it might be a positive ending for all the characters involved. "I see a fourth season that will bring all the characters back together in a way that would feel really satisfying and surprising and end a journey," the producer said.
"The Affair" will air on the latter part of 2017, with previous seasons airing in October and November.
