'Supergirl' season 2 premiere spoilers: James makes his move to pursue Kara?

(Facebook/TheCWSupergirl)Kara and James' relationship is in the spotlight in "Supergirl" season 2.

If there is one thing that the fans want to see in the upcoming season of "Supergirl," it is the moment Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) and James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) come clean with their true feelings and finally date each other.

The push-pull relationship between the two protagonists has been fun to watch in the last installment. Kara did not even know she liked Jimmy until her sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) pointed it out. The photographer, on the other hand, was still hung up on his ex-girlfriend Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum). It was obvious though that he regarded Kara as more than a friend. During the latter part of the season, they were close to admitting their feelings. Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that by season 2, they will start going out on dates.

Recently, the cast attended the San Diego Comic-Con and talked about the series' home changing from CBS to The CW. According to Benoist, as per Comicbook Resources, the move could not have come at a better time. She said there is already a noticeable change in the first scripts they have read, stating that they are "more vibrant, exciting and rich." Brooks also agreed with his co-star, sharing that the CW is the perfect platform for the superhero show, as compared to CBS with its "older demographic."

"Yeah, already with the scripts it feels younger. It feels younger; it feels more vibrant. ... CBS, it's a more conservative demographic, it's an older demographic. We were kinda catering to that in a way that we didn't really know how, I think. And CBS, I'm not sure if we really fit into their wheelhouse. But like, the CW, it's perfect. The scripts already, it feels younger, it feels more like us," the actor shared.

Meanwhile, new additions to the cast have been announced recently. TV Line reports that Katie McGrath is set to play the role of Lena Luthor in the upcoming installment. Described as "beautiful, powerful and enigmatic," she will arrive in National City, hoping to erase the people's perception that Luthor Corp is up to no good. Her brother was previously incarcerated and the company's reputation was in tatters.

"Supergirl" season 2 is set to air on Oct. 10 on its new home, The CW.
