Sunset Overdrive Xbox One bundle release date tipped for October 28, review roundup
A few days into the Sunset Overdrive launch for the shooter game's upcoming Xbox One bundle release date and Microsoft and Insomniac Games' are teasing fans with several campaigns, including an hour-long Twitch livestream.
In September, the studio introduced Sunset Overdrive Season Pass, where players are offered new gameplay, weapons and exclusive content.
"Packed with exclusive content, the 'Sunset Overdrive' Season Pass includes the first three complete Game Add-ons for 'Sunset Overdrive,' as well as six character outfits, two Amps and two Traps available exclusively to Season Pass purchasers as soon as the game is released," according to the Sunset Overdrive official blog.
Early review submissions by gaming enthusiasts and pundits revealed positive perception of the title.
"Sunset Overdrive is a melting pot of game design, spiritually linked to some very influential titles including ones from developer Insomniac Games' own stable. Bombastic characters and even their zoomed in still-frame introductions are reminiscent of Borderlands," said Jason Evangelho of Forbes.
IGN noted, "With hyper-agility, unique weapons, and customizable special abilities, 'Sunset Overdrive' rewrites the rules of traditional shooters and delivers an explosive, irreverent, stylish, and totally unique adventure exclusively to Xbox One."
Microsoft is also offering an Xbox One Special Edition Sunset Overdrive Bundle for $399, while the stand-alone digital game sells for $59.99.
The bundle includes a Cirrus white console and controller, full video game download and Day One Edition in-game items – "Nothin' but the Hits" gun, Fizzie outfit and Hardcore! Hammer.
Sunset Overdrive is scheduled for commercial release date on Oct. 28 exclusively for Xbox One.
