Although  it remains unclear as to when "Shameless" season 8 will arrive, rumors claiming that the upcoming season of the Showtime dramedy will feature Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Sierra (Ruby Modine) becoming a couple are already rife.

Speculations on Lip finally ending up with Sierra stemmed from the season 7 finale of "Shameless" where Lip was seen and heard telling Sierra that he wants to go to college to have a better life. According to the latest reports, the scene is indicative of Lip finally realizing how important Sierra is to him.

Avid fans of "Shameless" know too well that the last season of the Showtime dramedy was rough for Lip. As he returned to his alcohol addiction, he was definitely difficult to deal with, even prompting Fiona (Emmy Rossum) to threaten him of getting evicted from the house if he would not change.

It is suspected that Will's desire to straighten up his life has something to do with what he feels toward Sierra. After all, even if Lip is difficult to be liked and loved, she stuck with him through thick and thin. With this, fans can't help but speculate that the two may finally end up together as an official couple, a possibility Rossum does not discount.

"I think that there's possibility for that because they seem to be working on each other. They're each have their own struggles but they're working through it. I think they're a positive support system for each other. You never know, it's 'Shameless,'" Rossum said in an interview with International Business Times in December last year.

"Shameless" season 8 was confirmed last year during the airing of its season 7 finale last December, and it has been learned that it will offer 12 episodes when it returns. However, despite the announcement, Showtime has yet to announce the official release date of the dramedy series.
