Sarah Hyland, star of the hit comedy series 'Modern Family,' is facing some security issues with her past relationship as she files for a 100-yard restraining order against an ex-boyfriend.

According to the court document that Hyland filed, Prokop made her "fear for her life" at some point in 2014.

"He placed both of his hands around my throat and began to choke me," wrote Hyland in the document, according to AP.

"His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life," the actress added.

The incident happened in May, with Hyland stating that Prokop apologized, causing her to not file a complaint back then.

Hyland stated that due to Prokop's abusive attitude, she has tried to end the relationship several times, but to no avail. Hyland then sought the assistance of other adults, including her 'Modern Family' co-star, Julie Bowen.

Hyland also recalled multiple incidents of Prokop showing his intent to hurt her, including an incident when the actor went to a house that Hyland was building and threatened to hurt her and her dog.

Prokop has previously displayed a violent attitude on his Twitter account, when Hyland was "groped" during an event in Australia.

"To the a**hole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don't see next week," wrote Prokop in his Twitter account following the incident.

Hyland met Prokop during an audition for 'High School Musical' in 2008. While Hyland did not land a role, Prokop ended up playing Jimmy "Rocket Man" Zara.

The pair co-starred in a Disney movie called "Greek Charming."
